Your Role:

You understand that above all, finance’s job is to enable the other parts of the business to work smoothly and by providing clarity on budgets, KPIs and opportunity costs, you can empower senior leadership to make intelligent decisions.  GoldieBlox seeks an exceptional leader who is skilled with people and an expert in developing scalable internal processes for a growing business. The FP&A manager will work directly with the Acting CFO as well as senior leadership across the company to set and monitor budgets, develop ad hoc financial models and support annual, semi-annual and quarterly operational planning, as well as develop regularly board packages. 

More tactically speaking, your responsibilities include:

  • The FP&A Manager will be responsible for managing budgets, tracking budget to actual and ensuring that financial reporting is timely and accurate
  • The FP&A manager will support the acting CFO in preparing investor documents, including board packages, fundraising initiatives and what-if scenario planning
  • The FP&A manager will support IT, HR, Legal and other G&A activities that are managed by finance 
  • Ability to translate operational, marketing, sales and other KPIs into financial implications so senior leadership can make thoughtful decisions around new opportunities
  • Identify and forecast future growth opportunities and work with GoldieBlox leadership to develop business plans for emerging opportunities
  • Reviewing operations and recommending new productivity or cost saving initiatives
  • Preparing business cases to support new investment, strategic and other business decisions

Required Skill Set

  • 3-5 years of experience in finance, accounting and or a related field
  • Highly versed in all elements of Microsoft Office as well as Google docs
  • Very strong skills with Google sheets and Microsoft Excel 
  • Keen understanding of how the three financial statements link together 
  • Experience participating in and/or leading month-end close including reconciliations, revenue recognition, cost allocations and 
  • Comfortable using and developing a chart of accounts and assigning expenses accordingly 
  • Comfort engaging directly with executives
  • Working knowledge of IT, HR, legal and other G&A components that have financial interactions 
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to build relationships
  • Strong quantitative abilities

Desired Skill Set

  • Experience working with media companies
  • Experience with revenue recognition for subscription and or/long term sales cycles 
  • MBA
  • Significant experience using QuickBooks to generate custom reports
  • Prior experience developing board packages, managing cap tables and preparing investor documents
